LAS VEGAS, May 10 - After Professor Stephen Hawking recently decided to withdraw from the Israeli President's Conference, Rael, leader and founder of the International Raelian Movement (IRM), decided to award him the title "Honorary Guide of Humanity." Hawking reportedly withdrew from the conference to support an academic boycott against Israel that is being enacted to protest that nation's occupation of Palestine. "Here is one of the greatest minds on Earth, showing the way for all to follow," Rael said of Hawking, in a statement released today by the IRM. Rael's Honorary Guide title is bestowed upon only a few people, each of whom has dedicated his or her life to the betterment of humanity on Earth, no matter what the cost to career or personal well being. Past Honorary Guides include Ramsey Clark, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Sean Penn, Peter Tatchell and Julian Assange, all of whom have dedicated decades to uniting people worldwide rather than show allegiance to just one group. Hawking's withdrawal echoes Rael's request for the international community, especially the United Nations and all superpowers, to force Israel to accept a peaceful reconciliation between the two Semitic peoples that includes the creation of a unified state of Palestine. In a past address on this subject, Rael explained that the hatred so prevalent in this region will never cease unless something drastic happens. “The only solution would be something that creates a truly deep and sincere reconciliation, which can only be accomplished if the victims are first recognized as victims, and then integrated into a new entity,” Rael said. "If necessary, a total economic embargo against Israel should be put in place, as was done to South Africa, until this solution is accepted. And [the international community] should also send troops to protect the defenseless Palestinian people now in the Gaza concentration camp, who are in danger of being exterminated in a genocide that will forever make the Israelis look as bad as their Nazi torturers." "In the absence of an economic embargo, Raelians worldwide applaud this academic embargo, and we want to express a warm welcome to our new Honorary Guide, Stephen Hawking, who is setting such a fine example," said Brigitte Boisselier, IRM spokesperson.

LAS VEGAS, April 29 - The Paradism movement (www.paradism.org) has declared May 1st International Day of paradism to celebrate the advent of a new society without work and money. While many countries around the world recognise “International Labour Day” on May 1st, the Paradism movement will herald the coming of the “end of the labour”.Paradism is a political & social system similar to communism but exempt of any form of proletariat. Paradism, a system that works without money or banks, was officially launched by Rael (www.rael.org) in 2009. Paradism is based on the future applications and use of new technologies such as robotics, genetic engineering, nanotechnology etc., used for the freeing and betterment of humanity. All forms of human labour can be replaced by robots, nanobots & computers. It’s unacceptable to keep people enslaved in jobs that can now be performed by computers or other machines.Workers already think their replacement by machines leads to more unemployment and poverty. But it doesn’t have to be that way if the machines are owned by the people. This replacement by the machines doesn’t have to be at the expense of our quality of life. The gains brought by productivity will have to be redistributed to all not the few.Paradism answers the fearmongers who predict widespread poverty and austerity following the imminent fall of capitalism.“There is no reason to fall into poverty with the level of technology we have now,” says Rael,. “In this era of technological progress, science should totally free human beings from the slavery of work, allowing them to devote themselves solely to personal fulfilment in a society that ensures that all needs will be met for free.”

LAS VEGAS, March 17 – Raelians will stage worldwide protests tomorrow in front of Gabon’s embassies to demand the immediate release of one of their leaders, who was arrested and jailed on February 27 in Franceville, Gabon. “Raelian Guide Jean Rene Ogoula Ale has been sitting in jail for over 2 weeks on the absurd charge of witchcraft,” said Brigitte Boisselier, Ph.D, spokesperson for the International Raelian Movement (IRM) in a statement released today. “It’s outrageous beyond belief that this could happen in 2013. Ale is an engineer and a spiritual guide, but he’s in jail because the judicial system of Gabon operates as though sorcery really exists.” Declaring that Oguala must be freed immediately, Boisselier gave additional details. “Ale’s accusers are the parents of a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl who showed interest in the Raelian philosophy at a Raelian meeting where Ale presented the Raelian Messages,” she explained. “The parents are Christians, and they claim that their daughter has had bad dreams and has been drawing scenes of violence since that meeting.” “That was enough for the judge to go along with the accusation of practicing magic and witchcraft on underage persons,” said Tai Ehouan, leader of the Raelian Movement in Kama (the precolonial, native name for Africa). “The judge’s decision defies all logic and is totally unacceptable.” Ehouan says the verdict was not only wrong but ironic, since the IRM is dedicated to denouncing beliefs in any supernatural powers. “It’s ridiculous to associate the practice of witchcraft with the Raelian Messages, which are based on science,” he said. “The Raelian Messages demystify everything, and Raelians denounce any witchcraft and any other mystical practices that inhibit the blossoming of the brain by instilling fear.” Boisselier noted that such beliefs often cause deep childhood trauma. “We have heartfelt feeling for the young girl involved in this case, who, according to her parents, shows signs of being traumatized,” she said. “But we also strongly denounce and deny the link her parents and the judge have made between her trauma and our profoundly non-violent Raelian Messages." Boisselier also deplores the accusation made against Ale. “This Raelian Guide has always been a great example of living in harmony and of respecting the Raelian philosophy of absolute nonviolence," she said. “The judge's decision to detain Ale on the basis of unverifiable, medieval accusations is a violation of human rights, and we demand that the same judge now end this arbitrary detention.”Rael, founder and spiritual leader of the IRM, goes even farther, Boisselier said. “Rael says that unless Ale is liberated very soon, we’ll take this case to the human rights justice court to denounce the abuse of power shown by this judge.”

LIBREVILLE, March 7 - Accused of practicing witchcraft and magic, Raelian Guide Jean Rene Ogoula Ale was arrested and jailed on February 27 in Franceville, Gabon. His accusers are the parents of a 17-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl who showed interest in the Raelian philosophy at a Raelian meeting where Ale presented the Raelian Messages. The children’s parents are Christians who claim that their daughter has had bad dreams and has been drawing scenes of violence since attending the Raelian meeting. "That was enough for the judge to accept the accusation of practicing magic and witchcraft on an underage person," said Tai Ehouan, leader of the Raelian Movement in Kama (the precolonial, native name for Africa). "The judge's decision is totally unacceptable." Ehouan explained that the decision was not only wrong but ironic, since the International Raelian Movement is dedicated to denouncing any belief in supernatural powers. "It's so ridiculous to associate the practice of witchcraft with the Raelian messages when these messages are based on science," he said. "The messages demystify everything and Raelians are rightly here to denounce any belief in witchcraft or any other mystical practice that inhibits the blossoming of the brain by instilling fear." According to the lawyer hired by the International Raelian Movement to represent Ale, there is no serious or sufficient evidence to permit Ale's detention."He is clearminded, nonviolent and represents no danger to society," Ehouan stated. "And for the more than 20 years that the Raelian Movement has existed in Gabon, the Raelian Messages have been broadcasted frequently on all the media, mostly on Africa N°1." "Those broadcasts have been very well received by the listeners, particularly by young people who are in synch with the message of peace and nonviolence we bring", said Priest Guide Danielle Mekuid, national responsible of the Raelian Movement in Gabon. "Our mission is to promote absolute nonviolence, as illustrated by our "One Minute for Peace” campaign that has been running all over the continent since last September, including, notably, here in Libreville." Mekuid said the Raelian mission also includes promoting science and discouraging all beliefs in a supernatural god or in any supernatural force, such as witchcraft. "Such beliefs are totally false and are the primary cause of deep childhood trauma," Mekuid explained. "We have heartfelt feeling for the young girl who, according to her parents, is showing signs of being traumatized, but we strongly denounce and deny the link her parents have made between her trauma and our profoundly non-violent Raelian messages." Mekuid said his group also deplores the accusation made against Ale. "This Raelian Guide has always been a great example of living in harmony and of respecting the Raelian philosophy of absolute nonviolence," she said. "The judge's decision to detain him on the basis of non-valid accusations is a strong violation of human rights." "The International Raelian Movement requests that the judge who did this put an end to this arbitrary detention of Ale," Ehouan said. "Prophet Rael, founder and spiritual leader of the International Raelian Movement, goes even further. He says that unless Ale is liberated very soon, he will call on all Raelians worldwide to organize peaceful demonstrations in front of all Gabon's embassies and other diplomatic representations, starting on Monday, March 11. And we will also take this case to the human rights justice court to denounce the abuse of power shown by this judge."

LAS VEGAS, Feb. 7 - “For February, Black History Month, our organization will intensify its contacts with influential people who could benefit from a return to the African continent, known as Kama to the original inhabitants before colonizers came and renamed it,” said Dr. Gbedia Dodo, President of the Back to Kama Association, in a statement released today. “Centuries have passed since the ancestors of many accomplished people were deported and enslaved to build the American continent and the fortunes of Europe. Now it’s time to rebuild Kama.”Dodo said the Back to Kama (BTK) dream was launched in March 2009, after international spiritual leader Rael emphasized in a speech that the African continent should be saved first to avert violent global self-destruction and the end of humanity.“Kama has the potential to reach a modern post-industrialized level quickly, and without the need to go through the industrialized steps taken by the West,” Dodo explained.“It’s like a virgin land for entrepreneurs willing to give something back to the continent of their origin. And that’s especially true for all the descendants of slaves, who could return now to the home of their ancestors and restore the dignity and unique peaceful culture that the colonizers destroyed centuries ago.”Dodo said the new campaign is primarily targeting the African-American community.“Although Black History Month is a positive legal step, the danger for the African- American community will be to continue looking in the rear view mirror rather than start looking forward,” Dodo said. “Back to Kama offers the African Diaspora a dream solution that will transform our present fate and lead us into the future.”She said her organization’s goal is to support new entrepreneurial efforts in Africa by informing the West – and successful African-Americans in particular – of the superior benefits to be derived from doing business in Kama.“With the increasing financial crisis in the United States and Europe, many nations in Kama are becoming the best destinations for successful business investments,” Dodo pointed out. “Together, we can make this dream a reality and turn Kama into one of the most blossoming continents on the planet.”She said the Back to Kama team will contact celebrities, entrepreneurs, scientists, engineers and business people throughout Black History Month.“We’ll give these movers and shakers a detailed vision of what Kama’s future can be like if they unite to make it happen,” Dodo said.To learn more about the Back to Kama project, visit www.backtokama.org or http://www.facebook.com/BackToKama.org

LAS VEGAS, Dec. 29 – After an 8-year-old child of Hindu heritage who drew a swastika as part of a third grade holiday assignment in an Old Bridge Township elementary school was subjected to traumatic reprimand and racial bias counseling without parental approval, the International Raelian Movement (IRM), which includes a swastika in its most sacred symbol, today issued a statement supporting the child and the child’s parents as well as upholding use of the symbol itself.“The swastika is an ancient symbol of good will for nearly a billion Hindus worldwide, and Middlesex County, New Jersey, where this incident took place, is home to a large Hindu minority,” said Raelian Guide Thomas Kaenzig, who wrote a letter of protest to the Middlesex School Superintendent on behalf of the IRM. (See the letter along with the child’s drawing at http://www.proswastika.org/news.php?item.20.1 .)“It’s not the child who needs counseling but the teacher aide who complained about the child’s drawing, the counselor and the principal who approved the counseling,” Kaenzig said. “They need to know the beautiful, original meaning of this symbol, which can be found on every continent. For thousands of years before the Nazis hijacked and distorted it, it signified peace, harmony and good luck. And for billions of people, it means those same things today.”He dismissed statements by New Jersey school officials claiming that counseling would also have been ordered for a child choosing to draw a Christian cross or a Star of David.“I doubt a principal would approve counseling for a Jewish child drawing the Star of David, even if it were to offend a teacher aid from Palestine whose family was slaughtered by the Israeli army,” Kaenzig explained. “A double standard is unacceptable, and we expect the Middlesex school system to issue an apology to the child and his parents as well as to all others for whom the swastika is a highly sacred symbol.”“Year-round, including on Swastika Rehabilitation Day, Raelians support Hindus and others who revere this ancient symbol,” Kaenzig said. “We hold rallies to educate the public and assert the right of people everywhere to use this traditional symbol of peace. Discrimination against those who use it needs to be eliminated once and for all.”

MONTREAL, Dec. 18 - The Canadian government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Stephen Harper, recently announced that it will review its decision to acquire a fleet of F-35 fighter aircraft. In addition, it will look at other sources to reduce the costs of acquisition and maintenance, projected to exceed $40 billion for the lifespan of the project. "Although the Raelian Movement welcomes the decision to postpone the purchase, this step doesn't go far enough and it also doesn't address the fundamental question," said Andre Julien, spokesman for the Raelian Movement of Canada. ''Why even buy one?" Julien asked. “We don't need any fighter aircraft. We have no real enemies for except for those we decide to create for ourselves, as we did in Afghanistan and Libya when we participated in the wars there. Therefore, the debate shouldn't focus on which aircraft to buy and at what cost. It should focus on what peaceful technologies we should develop instead.”Julien pointed out that in recent polls, a large majority of Canadians want more peaceful resolution of conflicts (Ref.1,2). “Canadians want peace and they vote politicians into office to bring peace about," he said. "But once they're in office, they continue to increase military spending, which spawns additional wars. When will this nonsense stop?” Julien pointed out that world peace is what Canadian citizens want and need. "But buying more weapons doesn't yield more peace, as history has shown us time and time again," he explained. "We need to save all this money and use it for worthy purposes, like developing research for peaceful and useful technologies. We can be developing smart computers, robotics, genetic engineering, nanotechnologies and health and environmental sciences, all of which will benefit everyone." Julien said the time has come to devote all our efforts toward the achievement of a political system called Paradism, a rapidly spreading concept first introduced by Rael, spiritual leader of the International Raelian Movement.“Paradism is a political system that will lead humanity safely through transformations that will give birth to a true paradise on Earth," Julien explained. "It's based on making use of new technologies, such as robotics, genetic engineering and nanotechnology."He added that everything a human being can do can be done better by robots.“As Rael has explained, instead of working for money, we can let robots do all the work and use our lives to do what we like," Julien said. "We can create, study, do research, pursue the arts, or meditate and achieve self-development. Under those conditions, the world will finally reach the level of paradise. Hence the term 'paradism.'"For more information on Paradism, see www.paradism.org Ref.1: http://mosaicinstitute.wordpress.com/2012/05/11/canada-should-take-more-active-role-in-pursuing-peace-through-diplomacy-poll/Ref.2: http://abacusdata.ca/2012/09/21/foreign-affairs-perceptions-about-iran-and-diplomatic-relations-with-canada/

LONDON, Dec. 14 - After a yearlong inquiry into current U.K. drugs policy, the Commons Home Affairs Committee is asking the government to consider the possibility of legalizing and regulating drug use, since all efforts to combat drug cartels have failed. In a statement released today, Rael, spiritual leader of the International Raelian Movement, fully approved the committee's recommendation. "This committee is absolutely right!" he said. "The criminalization of drugs is putting depressed and hopeless people in jail, where they get more hopeless and depressed and then can become real criminals.” For Rael, punishing unhappy people who try to escape through "artificial heavens" is not only stupid but criminal. “Society should instead have values based on love, sharing, and compassion, which give everyone a feeling of hope and oneness," he said.Britain is not the only country considering a new drug policy. Portugal has recently de-penalized possession of small amounts without being subject to criminal penalties. In addition, two U.S. states have legalized cannabis, and Uruguay recently proposed a state monopoly of cannabis production and sale. Rael has long called for such a move toward legalization, since prohibition has never been a solution. "Police and jail aren't the right answers to depression and hopelessness," he said. "The criminalization of drug use just causes more crime, since no prohibition has ever stopped illegal trafficking. Nor will it ever stop the use of any substance. Alcohol and tobacco are sold freely, while they are even more dangerous than cannabis and kill many more people every year [than drugs do]. If we accept that alcohol and tobacco are sold with simple warnings on their labels about the dangers of using them, why not do the same with all other drugs, especially cannabis? The real solution for helping people to stop using drugs (or alcohol or tobacco), is to give them new values and new philosophies that destroy guilt and encourage pleasure. That way, they can enjoy life without needing any drug.” The Raelian philosophy has helped thousands of Raelians to stop using drugs.
LAS VEGAS, Nov. 30 – According to a statement released today, the International Raelian Movement (www.rael.org) has filed a detailed complaint against Switzerland with the United Nations Human Rights Council.* The complaint claims Swiss involvement in persecuting the Raelian Movement while protecting the Vatican and members of the clergy involved with pedophilia.Eric Remacle, spokesperson for the European Raelian Movement, explained why the IRM has filed the complaint.“This file has been sent to the United Nations after we exhausted all national and European options over the last ten years,” he said. “The matter started when we were denied the right to put up a poster in designated public areas in Switzerland. The Swiss police and the Swiss judges didn’t see any problem denying Raelians their freedom to express their beliefs in public areas that are made for that. The biggest surprise came from the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) and the deciding vote against us, which was handed down by the chief judge. The vote was based on ridiculously unfounded rumors.”But Remacle said the ECHR decision became much more understandable afterward.“We realized that this chief judge is actually a well-known servant of the Vatican,” he said. “We are indeed entitled to ask the United Nations how we can possibly expect to have a decision in our favor when most of the Swiss and European judges are clearly Catholic.Remacle said the Raelians were the first to structure an association, called Nopedo (www.nopedo.org), to denounce the pedophilic activities of the leaders of the Catholic Church.“Despite the thousands of crimes committed by them and the billions of dollars in judgments that have been handed down to Catholic dioceses around the world, a Belgian judge condemned Nopedo for defamation against the Catholic Church,” Remacle said.“We filed a lawsuit against the Pope in 2010 that coincided with his visit to the United Kingdom.** However, that lawsuit mysteriously disappeared from the court docket under pressure from the U.K. cabinet. The case alleged the cover up of pedophilia and crimes against humanity by the Pope.”“With this new decision of the European Court of Human Rights, no one can ignore the huge influence of the Vatican on the European courts,” Remacle concluded. “With this U.N. filing, we’re supplying evidence that proves the Raelian Movement the victim of a large conspiracy. European authorities are protecting the Vatican and stifling religious minorities. This means that the governments of France, Switzerland, Belgium and even the United Kingdom are protecting criminal activity, since it is now well known that the Vatican harbors and protects pedophiles. We’re confident that the Vatican will eventually be exposed for all it has done, but the world urgently needs to know that there are many governments complicit in these activities.”* The detailed complaint can be found at http://raelpress.org/request.php?104** The lawsuit against the Pope can be found at http://raelpress.org/request.php?90

MILANO, Nov. 26 – According to a statement released this morning by the International Raelian Movement (IRM), its Italian branch applauds what it calls “the wonderful initiative of Montese’s Municipality, near Modena, to help its citizens by organizing happiness courses.” “While people’s certainties seem to collapse as they face daily corruption, economic hardships and doubts about their future, we can only command this praiseworthy initiative from a small town,” said Marco Franceschini, national leader of the Italian Raelian Movement. “A society structured on a human scale must necessarily make the well-being of its citizens its top priority, since happiness is the only real purpose of every human being. For a long time, happiness was believed to be related to the sudden and unexpected events in our lives, and to special occasions and external events. At worst, it was considered an unachievable condition. Those conclusions are obviously completely false. Numerous surveys demonstrate that the happiest countries are not the wealthiest.” For Rael, spiritual leader of the International Raelian Movement, priority should be given to “Gross National Happiness” rather than economic growth. “A leader of a nation should give priority to a culture of ‘being’ rather than a culture of ‘having’,” he explained. “A culture of ‘having’ creates wars, genocides, pollution and chaos through the illusion of happiness coming from outside, while a culture of ‘being’ creates real happiness that comes from inside, peace, and harmony.” Every year for nearly 40 years, the Raelian Movement has offered “Happiness Academies” on each continent, based on Rael’s teachings which are now more and more confirmed by the scientific discoveries about how our brain functions and how to activate its happiness center. “It’s encouraging to see this need recognized at the political level,” Franceschini said. “Our hope is to see Montese’s initiative become an example nationwide.”
