Nadine Gary, president of Gotopless.org., called Johnson’s ruling “unconstitutional and discriminatory” and referred to a constitutional argument on topless rights made by Maitreya Rael, founder of Gotopless.org. and leader of the revolutionary International Raelian Movement. Gary is also a Raelian priestess.

“Maitreya Rael is a fervent defender of women's equal rights and has long denounced the unconstitutional double standard concerning toplessness that prompted him to found Gotopless in 2007,” she explained. “In fact, he says men across America should be legally forced to cover their chests since it’s illegal for women to go topless in most states. If men are allowed to go topless, women must also be allowed to do the same!”

Gary said Maitreya Rael has explained that life on Earth is the result of scientific creation by a highly advanced extraterrestrial human civilization, which used genetic engineering to create humans in their image.

“Women's breasts were part of their splendid design and shouldn’t have to be hidden,” Gary said. “Mayor Johnson's ruling is discriminatory and must be overturned, along with a city ordinance passed in January in Ashland, Ore., concerning this same issue. The excuse that families and children may be uncomfortable around topless women mustn’t be considered. That same excuse was used by defenders of the segregation laws 50 years ago, but those laws were abolished nevertheless. Thankfully, the U.S. Constitution isn’t swayed by racism or Puritanism for the benefit of families and children!"

Gary said Gotopless.org will stage topless demonstrations across the nation on Sun., Aug 22, including in Asbury, N.J., “to denounce this gross nationwide discrimination.” She added that all men who participate in the demonstrations will be asked “to stand up for topless equal rights by wearing something that hides their chests.”

The International Raelian Movement (IRM) had organized the worldwide celebration of the swastika for June 27 after Rael, the IRM’s founder and spiritual leader, called for the rehabilitation of this sacred and ancient symbol that forms part of the Raelian emblem.

The Australian celebrations included a procession to float a large, white swastika kite carrying the words “LOVE, INFINITY and PEACE” over Main Beach, Gold Coast. Placards explaining and illustrating the noble history of the swastika within Buddhism, Hinduism and many other cultures of the world were also on display and viewed with great interest by passersby.

But those activities soon came to an abrupt and unexpected halt when authorities intervened.

As helium balloons were being attached to lift the large swastika, police interrupted the preparations, saying they were following a complaint from an undisclosed source. The police then alleged that the swastika displays constituted racial discrimination and said they were stopping “the protest” under the Racial Discrimination Act.

“While all the demonstrations in Europe, America and Asia were welcomed peacefully, the Australian procession was stopped before it even began,” said Jarel Aymonier, leader of the Raelian Movement in Australia. He said his explanation to the officers – that the events were not a protest but a display of religious information to educate the public about peaceful uses of the swastika that pre-dated Nazism – came to no avail.

“The police are welcome to investigate any complaint, but after checking that we were peacefully presenting the religious meaning of the swastika, they should have let us continue and they could even have protected us from being threatened,” he said. “But instead of protecting us, they decided to deny us our freedom of expression. This was a clear misuse of power and I refused to comply.”

He said the police insisted that the swastika kite be dismantled and the placards removed. In addition, he said, participants were asked for ID, warned to vacate the area and told not to display the swastika placards lest they be subject to arrest. Aymonier refused.

“I couldn’t accept being asked to hide my own symbol, which is a symbol of peace and respect that I wear every day around my neck,” Aymonier said.

He said he was then arrested and taken to the police station along with the “offending” placards (see http://raelianews.org/news.php?extend.399 for photos). After spending a short time in a police cell, he was released. No charges were made against him.

“It’s a sad day for religious freedom and freedom of expression in Queensland,” Aymonier said later. “The police force is at the service of the citizens to protect their freedom, not to remove it from them. We should never take our freedom for granted. If we don’t stand our ground to defend our freedom on all occasions, it will be taken away from us. ”

Raelians are asking all Australian Buddhists and Hindus to protest to the authorities about the disrespect shown toward their religious symbol, and to join with Raelians in future public protests for freedom of religion.

“The Raelian Movement will also continue to inform the public about the peaceful swastika and it will reschedule the event in the near future,” Aymonier said. “We will never accept that we must hide our symbol since it was given to us by our creators, scientists from another planet. We should all be very respectful of this gift and of the teachings associated with it.”

According to the Raelian philosophy, the extraterrestrial scientists who created all life on Earth were responsible for the origin of all religions because they sent messengers called “prophets,” who prepared humanity to recognize its creators for who they really are once we are scientifically advanced enough.

The new Animal Welfare Code has sparked outrage within the Jewish community as the decision outlaws the age old tradition of ‘Shechitah’ - a practice advocated in the Torah which does not allow animals to be stunned before their slaughter.

In recent years there have been many campaigns to outlaw Shechitah which has been sited as inhumane and morally unacceptable.

The new Animal Welfare Commercial Slaughter Code mandates that all animals for commercial consumption must be stunned prior to their slaughter to ensure animals are humanely killed.

New Zealand joins 3 other countries – Iceland, Norway and Sweden who have outlawed Jewish ritual slaughtering.

Says Mark Woodgate, national representative of the NZ Raelian Movement, “For far too long the inhumane suffering of animals has been allowed to continue under the pretext of adhering to these ancient and barbaric rituals.

Even among the human population, religious ‘customs’ such as clitoral excision and genital mutilation have caused millions to suffer unnecessarily.

In the age of science and reason it is totally unacceptable that this type of suffering is allowed to continue.

“This ancient symbol of peace, good luck and harmony was hijacked by the Nazis, so it’s currently shunned in much of the West,” said Ricky Roehr, Raelian Continental Guide for North America. “Nevertheless, it can still be found in Native American artifacts like Navajo carpets and Apache baskets and in pre-Nazi-era items that were manufactured right here in the United States. For example, it was used as the shape for a lucky Coca-Cola fob back when a soft drink cost a nickel. One can even find it on the floor of the Ein Gedi synagoge in Israel!”

He said other vintage uses of the swastika symbol in North America include the shape of an old highway marker in Arizona, the central image on a Will’s cigarette pack and the design on old poker chips made by the American Playing Card Company.

“It was even used as the primary decorative element for a pre-Nazi era U.S. Army Boeing fighter plane,” Roehr said. “In fact, the swastika was seen only in positive terms until the Nazis adopted it. We hope World Swastika Rehabilitation Day will help restore its reputation and integrity because it’s is an integral part of our Raelian symbol.”

He noted that the Raelian emblem consists of two interlocking triangles representing infinite space, plus a center swastika that represents infinite time.

“This extraordinary emblem was given to us by our creators, advanced extraterrestrial scientists who came to Earth thousands of years ago and genetically engineered all life on this planet, including humans in their own image,” Roehr said. “That’s why the swastika figure is found worldwide in so many ancient cultures. It’s still found in temples and shrines across Asia, but we want to see it rehabilitated worldwide.”

"Intelligent Design has just been reproduced in laboratory and that makes it a valid and very competitive scientific theory on how life originated on earth." says Jarel, the Raelian guide for Australia. "But what Craig Venter has demonstrated is not the intelligent design by a supernatural God, but by scientists. We call it Atheist Design."

Atheist Design is a branch of the Intelligent Design theory that explains the origin of life on earth as being a scientific creation by Extra-terrestrial beings. The earth has been designed to support life or "terraformed" by an advanced civilisation from space. Life on earth originated from laboratories similar to Craig Venter's where scientists and artists genetically engineered its diversity, its equilibrium and beauty.

"I understand and agree with the concern of the teachers." adds Jarel. "It will be misleading and confusing to the students if Intelligent Design by a supernatural God was taught in the class room as a scientific theory. God has nothing to do with science. One cannot observe and experiment with something that doesn't exist".
Jarel asks the teachers to realise that the scientific arguments used by intelligent design supporters don't necessarily lead to the existence of a designer God but to designer scientists that we mistook for Gods. Intelligent Design theory is good science only if it is presented in the context of Atheist Design.

"Atheist Design is 100% scientific and it is the only truly scientific theory we have to explain the origin of life on earth." claims Jarel. "We cannot reproduce God in laboratory. We cannot reproduce the original soup and the chaos long enough to see a living being crawling out of a test tube either. The only theory that has ever been observed and reproduced in laboratory is Atheist Design, Intelligent Design by scientists."

Jarel asks the teachers not to ignore the scientific evidence for intelligent design by fear of introducing mysticism in the class room.

"It is important to destroy mysticism but also Darwinism which has been influencing our culture in a very destructive way, justifying competition and elimination for our own selfish survival instead of cooperation and brotherhood between all the living. We are not here by accident awaiting for our future extinction. Our life has a higher purpose. The one to grow and spread life, love and consciousness throughout the universe. “The state initially revoked our sales tax exemption when Nova Distribution, our publishing arm, applied for its own exemption,” Kaenzig said in a statement released this morning. “We applied last fall for sales tax exemption for the Nova entity so we wouldn’t have to pay sales tax on our book orders. But when the state declined Nova’s application, they saw fit to investigate the USRM’s status as well, and they wound up revoking the existing USRM exemption. It was a double whammy for us, and it was blatantly unfair and wrong, so naturally we appealed.”

Kaenzig said the state’s main argument was that the USRM doesn’t have an actual physical church or building where members meet on a regular basis.

“That’s a guideline that clearly discriminates against any small religion that can’t afford its own place of worship,” Kaenzig said. “It also discriminates against any religion that, for whatever reason, simply doesn’t want to have a consistent physical meeting spot.”

“We just received a letter confirming the final ruling,” Kaenzig said. “Both the USRM and Nova Distribution are now sales tax exempt in Nevada. But more importantly, we have just set a precedent for other small religious groups suffering from this sort of discrimination. The USRM is a recognized official religion under U.S. federal law. He also encourages all those who want to make caricatures of himself to do so, so that he can have a chance to laugh at them.

“I ask all freedom lovers to create and publish drawings of any god, Allah or Elohim, and also of any prophet, including caricatures of myself, since they always make me laugh.” declared Rael. “This is something religious fanatics forget: we have been created to laugh."

"Freedom of expression for artists must never be limited," he added. “Besides, we don't have an actual photo of the real Muhammad, so nobody can say if it's him or not when someone draws a caricature.”

Most importantly, Rael said, although religious Muslims can follow a rule asking them not to make any images of their prophet, non-Muslims have no such obligations. “Any Muslim can make a drawing of Jesus or Buddha," he said. "Freedom of expression must be absolute and free from any censorship.”

According to several UFO organizations, China is the No. 1 country for UFO sightings today, with more occurring daily.

“The Chinese public’s response to these sightings and to the Raelian explanation of them was anticipated by Rael, our spiritual leader,” Boisselier said. “Indeed, more than 36 years ago, the extraterrestrial scientists who created us told Rael that they would arrange more and more sightings to make the public aware of their existence and facilitate understanding of the Raelian message.”

Boisselier said Rael was also told that China was one of their main targets.

“That’s clearly verifiable now because of all the sightings there,” Boisselier pointed out. “And it’s such a pleasure to inform people like the Chinese about the Raelian teachings. Their minds generally haven’t been polluted by the Western religious teachings, so they have a more rational and open-minded way of looking at the creation of life.”

Boisselier said some articles in the press have stated that the Chinese government has engaged in discussions with the Raelian Movement to consider construction of an extraterrestrial embassy, and that some of those articles include the official Raelian picture of the embassy model.

“We’re in contact with several countries that have expressed an interest in our multi-million project to build the embassy and an adjoining cultural and scientific center where all the newest technologies can be developed,” Boisselier explained. “It’s too early at this stage of our negotiations to say where this embassy will be built. But considering the number of UFO sightings in China, we can anticipate that our creators would be happy to land there officially if we wind up building the embassy there.

“Vanunu’s desire to stop nuclear proliferation 24 years ago was commendable, and the Middle East owes him a lot,” said Brigitte Boisselier, PhD, spokesperson for the Raelian Movement. “But his continuous fight for freedom deserves our full admiration right now because he’d rather go back to jail than accept restrictions on his freedom of expression. ”

Rael has described Israel as a racist state similar to the South Africa of the apartheid era.

“It’s a racist state that accepts only Jewish immigrants, denies equal rights to non-Jews living there and forbids members of other religions to attempt the conversion of its Jews,” he said recently. “Its fanatical, orthodox Jews even consider all non-Jews to be inferior human beings called ‘gentiles,’ who according to their orthodox religious books are just good enough to be slaves. Considering Vanunu’s conversion to Christianity, his going back to jail comes as no surprise!”

Boisselier said Rael, with the assistance of Raelians living in Israel and Palestine, has launched many actions in that region, including joint public meditations. His recent initiative “Be a Jewish Gandhi” promotes the adoption of Palestinian orphans by Israeli couples that agree to raise the adopted children as Muslims.

“But these true Gandhis were told that Israeli law makes it illegal for Jews to adopt non-Jewish children! Can we imagine anything more racist than that?” Rael commented.

He added, “The hatred in this region will never cease unless something drastic happens. The only solution would be something that creates a truly deep and sincere reconciliation. Such a reconciliation can only be accomplished if the victims are first recognized as victims, then integrated into a new entity – a new state of Palestine, where Jews and Palestinians could live peacefully side by side and share their combined financial and human resources.”

He went on to explain that the state of Israel “must disappear and be replaced by that new Palestinian state, where the two peoples would mutually accept Right of Return for Jews and Palestinians from the two diasporas in a sweeping effort of mutual forgiveness. That would be the most beautiful example of love and fraternity conceivable for all humanity.”

According to the Raelian philosophy, the Elohim are the advanced extraterrestrial scientists who created all life on Earth, including people.

The announcement made by Craig Venter and his team at the Newseum today has been anticipated by Raelians worldwide, for Rael explained 35 years ago that we were created by human beings from another planet and would one day be able to create life ourselves.

“The creation of the first cell controlled by a synthetic genome as described by Venter and his team shows the entire world that life isn’t the mysterious gift of a hypothetical god,” said Dr. Brigitte Boisselier, spokesperson of the International Raelian Movement. “Instead, life is the result of an intelligent design, meaning a scientific design.”

She added, “It will be easier to scientifically create human beings than to convince ethical committees that it is inevitable and positive to do it..”

Rael anticipated Venter’s accomplishment in a speech he made several years ago. Some excerpts:

“We are now like the Elohim when they were about to come to Earth to create life long ago, when scientists on their planet were doing exactly what Craig Venter is doing now.”

“What will happen next? Some groups will totally oppose the creation of artificial life. Calling themselves ‘ethical committees,’ they will claim that the creation of beings is the privilege of ‘God’ or ‘mother nature.’ They will also claim that artificial bacteria can potentially be hazardous to human health. And yes, one day, if it didn't already happen with Aids or Ebola, one fatal bacterium may escape a laboratory and trigger a planetary ban of synthetic life creation voted through by the United Nations.

“At that point, scientists will have to continue their experimental creation of more and more sophisticated forms of life somewhere else. That means not on Earth, so it will be done on another planet, exactly as the Elohim did a long time ago!

“This will happen not only because nothing can stop science, but because nothing can stop reproduction at the macro-biological level. That is written in the collective genetic code of the ‘baby humanity’ composed of 6.5 billions cells – us.
