Rael awards Miko Peled ‘Honorary Guide for Humanity’ title

LAS VEGAS, Aug. 12 – According to a statement released this morning by the International Raelian Movement (IRM), Rael, spiritual leader of the IRM, has awarded Miko Peled the title ‘Honorary Guide for Humanity’ “for his lifelong dedication to the goal of tearing down the separation wall and transforming the Israeli apartheid system into a secular democracy, where Israelis and Palestinians will live as equal citizens.”

“Peled conveyed these thoughts in his book ‘The General’s Son,’” said Brigitte Boisselier, spokesperson for the IRM.

Born in Jerusalem to a Zionist family, Peled is the son of an Israeli general who later became a peace activist.

“He has now taken over his father’s legacy and advocates the creation of a single state between Palestine and Israel, a form of sanctuary possible only if Israel gives up the idea of Jewish dominion over this entire region and its resources,” Boisselier said, adding that Peled’s statements echo Rael’s repeated call for the end of the “Israeli apartheid” and his hope for the appearance of “a Jewish Gandhi.”

In a 2009 declaration, Rael said: “The State of IsRael has to disappear and be replaced by a Palestinian state in which Jews and Palestinians can live in harmony, where the two peoples will mutually accept the Right of Return for both the Jews and the Palestinians of the respective diasporas in a sweeping effort of mutual forgiveness, which will be the most beautiful example of love and fraternity conceivable for all of humanity.”

“The massacre between the sons of Abraham, between Israeli and Palestinian brothers, has to end,” Rael emphasized. “How can descendants of the Shoah confine other human beings to jail towns that are nothing but concentration camps?”

Rael’s position is that Palestinians are being denied all human rights.

“They’re being treated as the Jews were treated by the Nazis and as blacks were treated [in South Africa] during Apartheid,” he said.

Boisselier said Jerusalem and the region of Israel-Palestine is very important to Raelians.

“Rael has been asked by the Elohim, the advanced scientists who created life on earth and were mistaken for gods by our ancestors, to build an embassy near Jerusalem where they had their first laboratory,” Boisselier said, adding that the Elohim were clearly mentioned in the Bible. “But who would like to be welcomed in such a violent and racist state?”

Boisselier said Honorary Guide Miko Peled’s work to end to the region’s mayhem and violence is commendable.

“He can be assured of the full support of the more than 70,000 members of the Raelian Movement,” she said.
