Why Bill C-262 has not yet been ratified?
Montreal, April 23, 2019— It was on May 30, 2018, that Bill C-262* was finally passed at third reading in the House of Commons and since then has been before the Senate.
Since nothing is done yet with Bill C-262*, the Raelians decide to take action to express their disagreement. A Canada-wide campaign is being launched to put pressure on senators to ratify the bill that has been in their hands for almost a year now.
Despite the government’s promise to finalize this UN declaration some ten years ago, the only tangible action taken is this project led by NDP MP Romeo Saganash, a project that is now in danger of being relegated to oblivion, as it is urgent to proceed before June 2019.
It is important to acknowledge that the protection of the rights of all indigenous peoples is an integral part of the Raelian values.
“The Raelian Philosophy lauds the restitution of the land, the resurrection of habits, religions, indigenous languages and the federation in a united continent which incorporates all original and immigrating populations in harmony and social justice.”

* Federal Bill C-262 seeks to harmonize the declaration of fundamental human rights with the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP).
