Raelians Celebrate International Happiness Day by Promoting Laughter as a Path to Peace
Tokyo, March 17, 2026 — On March 20, Raelians will celebrate Happiness Day with even more fervor than ever.
In a recent address, Rael, spiritual leader of the Raelian Movement,
reminded us that “We should be laughing constantly. We are born to laugh.”
He added, “You shouldn’t be sorry for laughing, but you should be sorry
for being serious! Laughing is becoming like the Elohim—the scientists
who created us. The Elohim are laughing all the time, and they were
laughing when they created us.”
Rael explains that many of today’s conflicts arise from a complete
betrayal of the teachings of the prophets. He notes that certain
interpretations of Jewish scriptures promote the idea that the country
of Israel must be attacked by the whole world so that the Messiah can
guide the Jewish people and their God can intervene to save them in a
final battle. Some fundamentalist Christians hold a similar belief,
envisioning a worldwide conflict that will bring back Jesus and ensure
victory for Christians. Some Muslims also hold comparable apocalyptic
interpretations.
According to Rael, representatives of monotheistic religions are
actively promoting a war agenda at the highest levels, in complete
betrayal of the original teachings of their prophets.
He says that the mission of the Raelians is to restore the true
narrative of what these prophets taught. They all spoke about love,
respect for life, respect for our Creators, and the importance of
enjoying every second of the life that was given to us—values that Rael
has been teaching for 52 years through the yearly Happiness Academies he
conducts.
Rael concluded, “Train yourself so that your last breath may be taken
while laughing. Train yourself every day and never hide your happiness.
Happiness and laughter are contagious. Be the one who triggers laughter
in others. Initiate this contagion of laughter to counter the infection
of seriousness.”
“Spreading love—that’s what we do as Raelians. Spreading love means
spreading laughter. When people are laughing, they don’t want to kill
other people. When you are happy, you don’t want to kill other people.
Happiness is the only solution to save humanity because it brings love.”
Join Raelians in the streets or at one of their many activities on March
20—and every day—because Happiness Day should be celebrated every day.
